Taylor University Builds Connections and Gains Visibility with Mailable Yard Signs During COVID-19

Challenge

When COVID-19 shut down campuses, colleges needed to find a way to keep their students feeling engaged, even from a distance. Taylor University was no different, and needed a way to ensure their students studying at home maintained their connection to the school.

Solution

Taylor and Magellan worked together to find an option that would allow students to showcase their pride and provide a daily reminder of their chosen path with Taylor.

In order to accomplish this, they used a polybag mailable yard sign, which allowed students to showcase their Taylor pride from home. This mailable polybag sign included an integrated messaging campaign, with graphics showing well-known places on campus to serve as a reminder of their school.

The sign also included the hashtag #NotDefinedByGeography, which encouraged students to share their sign on social media and see others’ signs, helping maintain their feeling of community with the school.

With many Taylor employees also working from home, they took advantage of the fulfillment and mail services provided by Magellan to simplify the distribution process.

Outcome

As the signs arrived at students’ homes, Taylor University staff began quickly seeing social media posts and pictures with the signs. As an added benefit, the signs also helped build awareness and affinity amongst their neighborhoods as they would be seen displayed in yards as they passed by.

Take a look at some great examples of social media posts with the signs below!
