Over the past year, yard signs have grown increasingly popular for a number of reasons. It is common now as we travel around to see signs celebrating healthcare heroes, college attendance, sports teams, Black Lives Matter, and a variety of political causes.
One of the challenges with signs is that they are expensive to mail due to the size of the sign and the frame. We have taken on this challenge to solve this issue to find the most cost efficient mailable yard sign options, and through this process, we have identified two yard sign options that are the most cost efficient to mail.
Corrugated Yard Sign
One of the most popular yard signs are the corrugated plastic yard signs. They are sturdy and hold up well for a long period of time. There is an option that has two metal stakes that slide into the sign. This frame option allows us to just ship the yard sign in a mailer shipper bag and put the stakes on top of the sign. For an additional cost, we can include a marketing insert card to go along with the sign and frame. We assemble the full package and can mail them out to a provided mailing list.
Bag Yard Sign
Plastic bag yard signs are popular because of their price point. They work well for mailing projects because they can be easily folded into a smaller size. We have found a stake that is one long piece that breaks down into three pieces. This allows us to put the yard sign and stake into a long and thin mailer bag, making it easier and less expensive to mail out. We can also handle the assembly of the entire package.
If an organization is sending signs as part of a marketing campaign, we understand the challenge that not everyone receiving the sign may not have a yard in which to display them. So we created a poster option that can be folded up and mailed in an envelope, or can also be included with the corrugated yard sign, to display proudly in a window.
Taylor University uses yard signs to maintain student engagement
The admissions office at Taylor University was looking for a way to boost branding and help current students feel connected with campus, and the mailable yard sign provided a way to meet both needs in one product. So we produced and coordinated mailing the Taylor yards signs directly to student homes on behalf of the university. Using elements from an integrated messaging campaign, the sign included graphics showing well-known places on campus along with the hashtag #NotDefinedByGeography. Shortly after they began arriving, excited students and families began posting photos on social media along with the campaign hashtags.
