Stocking a Local Community Closet to Help Provide Warmth and Comfort

Core to our company’s mission of building community through promotional products, we find ways to give back throughout the year. This winter season, our team partnered locally with James E. Dottke Project-Based Learning High School to provide apparel for their Community Closet. Open to students, families, and the neighborhood, Dottke students actively manage the closet to provide clothing, food, and essential hygiene items.

Partnering with Dottke now for a second year on this initiative, our team delivered 30 boxes to help restock new merchandise for the Community Closet.

After contacting our production partners about this opportunity, we received many thoughtful donations of t-shirts, polos, pants, sweatpants, sweatshirts, hats, baby clothes, and backpacks. This donation helped stock the Community Closet with warm seasonal apparel — and durable clothing — needed to stay warm in cold Wisconsin winters and throughout the year.

Dottke Project-Based Learning High School in West Allis is a small alternative education high school for at-risk students, and is a leader in new, creative and innovative instructional practices. Principal Greg Goelz shares that “Dottke is very appreciative to Magellan Promotions for their extremely generous donation of clothing and backpacks to our community closet. The items will be used to help meet the basic needs of our students and other families in the community. These items will put smiles on so many student’s faces, as well as give them the confidence to feel good about themselves as they learn in school.”

With about 76% of the students coming from economically disadvantaged families, the community at the school cares for each other by making sure that everyone’s needs are met so the focus can remains on learning successfully.

Our team also extends a hearty “thank you” to the following production partners that made this donation possible:
